Why Cyprus?
Cyprus has become one of the most popular destinations for Europeans looking to move to warmer climates. At present, the island has a population of approximately 752,000 and most inhabitants speak fluent English. A large number of ex-patriates are also drawn to this stunning Mediterranean island.
Property is the island's second largest industry, closely following on the heels of tourism. Our magazine with its commitment to quality and its comprehensive coverage of the Cyprus property market will become an invaluable guide for anyone looking to buy or sell.
Cyprus has been a full member of the EU since the 1st May 2004 and adopted the Euro on the 1st January 2008.
COST OF LIVING Cyprus enjoys a high standard of living at a lower cost than many other European countries. A recent international poll showed Cyprus to have one of the lowest costs of living within a developed nation. The modern supermarkets in Cyprus offer a large variety of local and imported goods.
The cost of eating out is very reasonable. At most restaurants diners can eat for between 10 and 25 per person. Cypriots enjoy their food and the island boasts a wide variety of restaurants catering for all tastes.
THE LEGAL SYSTEM
The legal system in Cyprus is based on the British legal system. Legal fees are, however, much lower than in the UK and other European countries.
